I confess that I was relieved that the holidays are over and that today marks the start of a mundane week. I got up and ran on the treadmill for 20 mins. I walked to work and ate roughly every 3 hours, which kept my energy up all day. I even hit the treadmill for another 20 mins this evening and did a 10 minute stretching workout. After a few weeks of holidays and late nights followed by sleeping in the next day, routines feel good.

I find that I can stay on the straight and narrow through the week, as long as l chew some of my calories - days where I start with a smoothie, then have yogurt as a snack, and then soup for lunch usually end with me overeating in the evening - even if I have an apple and peanut butter as a mid-afternoon snack. If I swap the soup at lunch for something that I can bite into and have soup for dinner, then I'm fine. Or if I trade out the yogurt for something crunchy, like multigrain toast, then it's okay.

Over this game, I'm going to try to continue to notice what works for me, so that I can avoid what I know doesn't work well.
