I live in the ice and the snow of the Great White North and I'm going to Disneyland in less than 2 weeks to run a half marathon. I've become paranoid that I'm going to slip and fall on the sidewalk and break something before I fly south. Disney is a lot of things, but one thing it isn't is cheap: I don't want to risk my investment by breaking an ankle.

Today, one of my friends dragged me outside for a short 4km run. It was slow, as the path was very slippery and it was cold. It was also very good and I'm grateful that she got me out there.

I'm going to be keeping mainly to the treadmill, but I will continue to run outside twice a week. At this time of year, I feel like I live in perpetual darkness - dark when I wake up and dark when I come home from work. A short run outside provides the most natural light I get on weekdays.

I've started watching Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 2 on Netflix while on the treadmill. I didn't realize there was a sequel until I was browsing through the documentaries. I don't plan on starting a juice diet anytime soon, but I have to admit that I can add some more veggies to my meals.
