Today  I headed into the gym early, walked past the weights room and into a place that I never usually frequent, yep the cardio area. Frankly,  if I want to do a bit of cardio I usually go and run a trail outside but its freezing outside at the moment in Dallas and I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold.

I set my goal on the  eliptical and did a 40 minute interval and hit my 650 calories.  Basically, boredom  was my biggest enemy, I have no idea how people use these machines every day. Anyway, job is done and I logged my calories burned and went off to do a bit of fun stuff in the other part of the gym.

I think the hatred of cardio is a guy thing or perhaps I have a mild form of ADD, a friend suggested trying one of the spin classes as a good way to get the cardio elements in. So maybe later in the week when I am feeling braver. My venturing into a yoga class last month is still fresh in my mind, I will work up the courage to go back.

Evening was spent at the local crossfit box. I am a relative newbie to crossfit but used to  do a lot of circuit training so its a nice progression. Todays wod ( crossfit term for workout of the day....sorry last crossfit term I will use) was quite short only 18 minutes of push presses, rowing, sumo deadlifts, box jumps and wall ball toss. Frankly it felt like an hour, but in a good way. Strange thing I found with crossfit is that you cannot rely on it for burning huge amounts of calories, it certainly helps with aerobic  conditioning but wont burn through your fat that much unless you are resticting calories. Which is well and good if you are not like me and eat like a horse after class. Anyway, today  there was no grazing and calories were adhered to.

The weigh in today went fine and I am exactly on track, so something is working.

Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying the challenge.
