Here I am on this Diet Bet journey, not to win money...but to be accountable to a group. I am here because I want to start anew and I know exactly how to do it. I am active in strength training but over the past 3 years I have been on and off again with both my training and clean eating. One of the reasons for the yoyo thing is that I took a new job 3 years ago that has me driving 2-3 hours a day. Travel alone is a major factor and then learning an entirely new job had its challenges in and of itself.

I am a member of 3 bodybuilding forums and I have a coach who is awesome. My coach has become my friend and confidant over the past couple of years and he has been supportive of me through my yoyo patterns. He has been more a life coach than a strength and nutrition coach, because I already know what I need to do.  I used to send weekly photos of my progress to my coach...but that has stopped because frankly I am embarrassed.  I don't want him to see what I actually look like in my bikini now. It ain't pretty. I am not super overweight but for what I am used to, I am 25 pounds heavier than normal. I look best around 140-145 pounds. I am SUPER LEAN in my 130's because I have a good amount of muscle under the layers of fat. My weight training has been fairly consistent....even as I put on the pounds because of the lack of a clean diet.

Well, since I am embarassed to post pictures on the bodybuilding forums that I belong to, I need to post my progress somewhere "safe". See, I am typically the person that people on the forums would turn to for inspiration and motivation. I am not there now, and I am honestly embarassed by it.  So, instead of trying to do this by myself...I am here :).

One great thing about this platform is that perhaps I can reach a different group of people who will see my progress and success and also learn that you don't have to starve yourself and kill yourself in the gym to have great results. My strength training routine takes on 25 minutes 4 days a week. I plan to simply add moderate cardio 3 times a week for 20-30 minutes. That's the plan for now. I have also joined a couple of contests that will keep me engaged over 12 weeks...which is the sweet spot for seeing full on body transformation.

I am not in a hurry to lose the weight. I just want to see steady progress...so that starts with documenting my progress and doing progress pictures per week.

I am going to finish these 18 days with success and will blog along the way.
