In case anyone should actually read this...I should note here that I'm not being flippant about the 12 step program....my sister is in AA and is 3 year sober! She's awesome and she's doing great. I'm sometimes quite jealous of her support system. This disease is really hard on her, so I'm not being flippant, but I'm praising the success of the program.
