Ever since I can remember, I have been a lover of buttered popcorn.  It's a well known fact with my friends.  I have even received microwave popcorn and an air popper as birthday gifts.

A couple years ago, I decided to reduce my salt intake.  I will either omit it or use half as much as a recipe calls for.  I did this for everything...except popcorn.  And I can easily enjoy my favorite snack 3-5 times a week.

Well I had some last Monday, the night before the Dietbet game started, and it was delicious.  My work schedule changes, and I've been working the evening shifts this past week.  So I've kept myself from eating when I get home (11 pm at the earliest), which I'm sure is one of the reasons for my success so far.  So no popcorn, ice cream, or any other sweet treat all week.

I decided to go ahead and eat popcorn last night.  It was within my calorie allowance, and I craved the movie and popcorn combo.  I used about 1/3 less of the butter flavoring when I actually measured out the serving size, which I sadly realized was plenty and I've been overdoing it out of habit.

The first few bites were good, but soon the salt made it nasty.  Same thing happened when I stop drinking soda for a while.  When I break down and drink one, it's not tasty like it used to be.
