"You gotta check yourself, before you wreck yourself."
This phrase is so true for what has happened to me in the last month or so.

Mid-may I began the 21 Day Fix (cheap-style -- doing my own workouts and only concentrating on food using knock-off containers that I purchased from Amazon - I'm on a tight budget!). During the 21 Day Fix - I discovered that I could really make some changes that I never thought I'd be able to do - like thinking ahead - making lunches ahead of time, cutting out sugar/sweeteners, cutting out processed foods, watching carbs. Lost about 10 lbs the first go around.

I found DietBet again and joined a couple games! While reading others posts, I heard of counting macros. Downloaded an app or two to try to figure out the best way to track macros and low carb intake.

That lead me to talking to a friend who said she watches carbs closely (eating less than 20 net carbs a day) - no fruit really but berries since fruit is high carbs. Then I moved to watching carbs and managed to eat less than 20 net carbs (never in a million years thought I could do this!). But then as the days went past - I felt horrible. Tired. Sluggish. Headaches. Sick stomach when I did eat. If I am making all these "better" choices - why was I feeling so awful?

That made me look into low carb living more - which lead me to Keto diet and I discovered that I may have had the Keto Flu. Hmmm - maybe this is the way to drop the weight and pretty fast - look at all these before and after photos -- I want to lose it sooner than later - don't we all?

I was talking to my dad one day about what I was eating and realized that I had restricted myself so much that I wasn't really eating much of anything at all! I had gotten so caught up in losing the weight fast and what program would work best - that I lost focus what is best for ME. What can I sustain long-term? What will fit into my lifestyle.

I had to check myself, before I wrecked myself.

The best exercise that works for you is the one that you do. The best program that works best for you is the one that you do. But it doesn't mean that the same exercise and the same program is best for everyone.

I decided that I need to go back to what I know works - counting calories and exercising - restricting processed foods, eating more veggies, more fruits, drinking more water. The weight may not fall off, but I know in the end this is a lifestyle change, right?

Just today I found that I was reading others posts and thinking maybe I should try that..but then I remembered that I need to focus on ME! It's easy to want to do it all - especially if it's working for someone else! But it's not about someone else - this time it's about me.

Thanks for listening and your support!
