Good afternoon blog world and DietBet Nation!

Day 2 of the Diet Bet, and I woke up this morning with every muscle in my legs sore! It is wonderful to literally feel the physical evidence that I exercised yesterday, but that evidence was affecting my feelings towards today’s workout!

Sore muscles or not, my mornings are always the same by shuffling to the kitchen and making my “morning wakeup shakeology”!

The recipe is:
1 cup of espresso
Ice
1 Banana (to naturally sweeten the espresso)
Vanilla or Chocolate Shakeology.

The ABSOLUTE key for this recipe is to chill the espresso first with the ice and blend that combination together before adding the shakeology because warmed shakeology tastes nasty! :)

Usually after a couple sips of my “morning wake up shakeology,” the jolt of espresso motivates me to start T25. But my sore muscles were outweighing the boost in energy this morning, and I felt so cozy in my pajamas on the couch!

Moving at a sloth’s place to get my workout done, I opened the T25 Calendar and saw that Alpha’s Week 2 Day 2 workout is Total Body Circuit: the hardest workout of the week! Subconsciously, I started stalling the workout even more. Being sore now would not compare to the pain after TBC!

I drank my shakeology as slow as possible and started watching videos on YouTube. My morning was passing, and I found myself 20 minutes into Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s reality TV Show: “Chaotic” Episode 1 - “Can You Handle My Truth.” Yes, watching Kevin and Britney’s budding love while in London hotel rooms was way more important than getting my workout done, NOT! If I had started TBC when I started wasting my morning watching “Chaotic,” I would have been finished with my workout!

If I only worked out on days when I had the desire to exercise, I would exercise maybe twice every other week. :) For unmotivated mornings like today, I have a game plan! Awhile ago, I saw an amazing Gatorade commercial that was set to an army cadence, “Hard Work.” The rhythm of the Army running at a steady pace and the soldiers shouting “Hard Work” unanimously made me want to start moving too. A genius set the “Hard Work” Army Cadence on repeat for an entire hour and uploaded the video onto YouTube - and now I play that Army Cadence every morning as I get ready for T25.  Now, I am like a Pavlov Dog that salivates when I hear the ringing of a bell - once I start playing “Hard Work” I know that it is time to get my workout done and to get my butt off the couch!

Here is the hour long video of “Hard Work” on repeat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmbquyztkNI

After shutting off “Chaotic,” I switched over to “Hard Work” and my sore muscles instantly knew what time it was! I turned up the volume and kept that Army Cadence playing as I put in my contacts, and washed my face. While changing into my workout clothes and lacing up my sneakers, “Hard Work” was still going, so I kept going! I moved my coffee table and my couch and pushed Play! Boom! Total Body Circuit was done in 25 minutes and I could move on with my day!

Find what is motivating and use it on days when you can’t motivate yourself!
