Hello Diet Bet Nation!  I hope everyone is doing well.

Being a musician, I have evening rehearsals and concerts from at 8-10 pm atleast once a week.  Tonight is one of those nights!  With a 25 minute commute from home to school, it would be a waste of gas and time to drive home just to have dinner, so I use to have dinner out, and make really bad choices.

I usually have a 4 hour gap in between my afternoon class and rehearsal, so I would grab the fastest meal possible which was an overpriced drink and pastry at Starbucks.  It was the fastest and closest place so that I could return to my studies as fast as possible to make the most use of my time.  Of course that pastry would not be filling enough, and by the time I was out of rehearsal, I was hungry again and would stop at Cookout on the ride home for a milkshake and a french fry.

So shameful, but I thought I desserved this treat for making it through a 12 hour day at school!  I should have gotten the clue when I would throw away the Cookout trash and recipt in a public trash can so that my husband wouldn't see it.  Then, once I was home, I would have a beer with my husband.

Being a musician, this would happen atleast once a week last semester...

This is my first evening rehearsal of the semester in my new healthy lifestyle, and I'm so proud of myself that I planned ahead!  I didn't have time to run to the grocery store after work and before I had to leave for class, so I made do with what I had in the refrigerator and packed a dinner.  I boiled eggs, made mashed sweet potatoes, and packed almonds and an apple!  Not only did I save money and a ton of calories - but I had a filling healthy meal on the go.

May I never ever EVER go back to my old ways!!  :)

Onwards!!!!!!!!!
