I've been meaning to post this recipe for a while now, it's my all time favorite protein "bars" and it taste like a real brownies! Originally the recipe is from www.chocolatecoveredkatie.com but I have changed it a bit so it has fewer Cals. This is my version of it:

  • 1 1/2 cups black beans (1 15-oz can, drained and rinsed very well)
  • 4 tbsp dutch or regular cocoa powder
  • 6 tbsp soy protein powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup or agave or honey
  • 1 tbsp coconut or vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp sugarfree applesause
  • 1/2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate (I use 90% chocolate)

Combine all ingredients except chips in a food processor, and blend until completely smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips or chop your own chocolate. Spray silicon muffin forms and devide the batch into 12 pieces. Bake at 350 F or 180 C for 15 min, they look a bit under baked but thats normal. Store in a refrigerator.

I really love these protein brownies, so great to be abble to eat somthing like this that is super healthy and makes my sweet tooth happy. I usually heat them up a bit before eating and I like to add one tbsp light sour cream or greek yogurt on top. They are about 105 Cals but you should calculate on your own to because it can change a little from what kind of brand you are using.

Enjoy!
