Non-scale victory of the week!

We drove down to Salt Lake City over the weekend and I gained almost 5 pounds in just a couple days. My heart is really telling me to not eat the keto diet because it conflicts with the word of wisdom and I’ve been trying to do it out of curiosity to just drop weight quickly but it does not make my body feel good. I’m not a constipated person ever, and when I eat keto I feel all blocked up and crazy. I also feel like fruit is so important for our health and has many vitamins and minerals in it. I’m used to drinking green smoothies that have banana and spinach in them and can’t do that if I’m eating keto. So I think for now I’m just gonna go back to what was working for me before. Aim to eat about 1300 cal of a whole foods plant-based diet, no refined flours, no refined sugar, cutting out the chips, which is major for me, and other fried foods. I went out to Denny’s last night with a bunch of other women for a girls night, and I ordered a veggie burger on a whole wheat bun no cheese, and I had it with avocado and caramelized onions. I debated whether I should get the fries or the fruit cup and I chose the fruit cup because I’m not eating fried foods. So really having your goal set in your mind and your list of what you will allow yourself and what you wanna lie yourself to do is massively helpful. I totally would’ve eaten fries otherwise. I did have pop and popcorn at the movies though, so I didn’t eat 100% clean yesterday unfortunately. I’m also starting an exercise plan which has me doing the firm workouts multiple times weekly to push myself harder. I’m experiencing weight loss but I’m not experiencing muscle gain and muscle tightening the way that I would have if I was doing the firm workouts. In fact I don’t really notice the difference at all other than a little bit of fat loss. I miss my muscles! I cannot wait to have my strong and capable muscles back, so I’m excited, way excited to do these workouts and push myself. Stress and pressure leads to growth and change.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

All the things. Exercise hard daily. Drink TONS of water. EAT CLEAN and within my calories, which is the most important. I have 4.3 lbs to lose before my next DietBet weigh in, and only 10 days to go, so I need 110% consistency.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I stuck to my diet plan perfectly the last few days. My jeans are all feeling loose.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

Not made cookies in my new oven, or at least not eaten them.

Be consistent and try to eat the keto diet today and tomorrow. I’ll eat my sisters cooking if I need to, but I still will avoid refined flours and sugars and fried foods. Fill up on veggies! And protein sources. Watch how my body reacts. Prep for my trip down to SLC. Pack almonds, avocados, salad, gluten sausages, fat bombs, coconut butter, hemp hearts, cauliflower, etc so I can eat. NOT eat Easter candy. Lay off the grains until the end of my March dietbet. I’m curious to see how my body reacts to ketosis.

I’ve reigned myself back in and am not on a sugar binge after eating a ton of it over the weekend, which is incredible for me.

Juicing everyday, follow the Hallelujah diet to a T in preparation for my cancer ultrasound on the 28th. Pilates daily, harder workouts as well at least three times, walk in the treadmill while I listen to conference or podcasts or audiobooks, read scriptures every morning and pray my heart out. Come to God above all. Believe in myself. Believe I CAN do this. Believe I can lose the weight. Believe I can hineschool my kids well. Believe I can be successful in my business. Believe that I can get our preparations in order. Believe that I can keep a clean house. Believe in goal setting, vision boards, achievements for all of the family. Push myself to achieve. No more laziness and complacency.

Non-scale victory of the week!

When I'm wearing my jeans I keep noticing that they feel a little loose. And then I look and they're not loose but they are not skintight like they normally have been I guess :-) two times I've checked my jeans size because I have size 14 in size 16 and I thought for sure this must be the 16th because they feel so loose, and then they were the 14s actually. Mind you they're not actually loose and falling off or anything but I can feel some wiggle room. Also my eating was 100% perfect this week except for I ate the corn bread muffin which I'm sure hood Whiteflower white sugar and eggs at my husband's company party. It wasn't even that good. Also we're at the end of our budget for food money so I'm having to really limit the choices of healthy food I can eat according to my plan.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I exercised several days this week but I didn't feel my muscles burning like I wanted to. So this week I'm going to go for some stronger workouts. I want my muscles to be sore so that I know that change is happening. Particularly my legs abs and arms, and butt.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

I need more vegetable juices especially as I'm dealing with my upcoming possible cancer ultrasound. My plan this week is to focus on high protein vegan foods, massive water intake, vegetable juices and salads, and more intense workouts. I am doing a 800 cal a day for a week challenge and so I'm not doing any cardio at all because I don't wanna lose muscle. My workouts will be muscle training and 10th and my diet will be high protein vegan food plus vegetables. I'm aiming to drink 100 ounces of water a day for the next week.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I'm not craving sugar anymore. I'm starting to feel stronger a little bit but mostly mentally like I can handle doing workouts. Before I started this challenge my internal dialogue is always telling me not to don't have time to work out, but I'm going to hurt myself if I do, Or that it's not gonna last and I'll be gung ho for a couple days and then quit, but I have not quit. This is day 12 or 13 and I'm still plugging along. I was eating an orange last night and just thinking when I told my son Eli that for two weeks I haven't eaten anything that gives you that sticky feeling you get when you eat things like pizza or nachos or donuts or pub. I haven't gotten the feeling from eating anything because it's all healthy food. Feels pretty good.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I could've done better and going to bed on time so that I get up early and get my workouts done first thing in the morning. I had early-morning appointments for Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and consequently didn't get my workouts done until midnight on Monday around 10 o'clock pm on Tuesday and around 8:30 PM yesterday on Wednesday. This morning I'm gonna bust out my 15 minute Pilates workout and then walk 2 miles on the treadmill before anybody even likes up. I also have a lunch date today at noon with my friend to cherish and so I don't want that to conflict with my work out either.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

My goals for this upcoming week is to consistently walk 2 miles or even more so that I can drop more weight. I've only lost 2 1/2 pounds in 12 days of doing this and I think it's partially because I'm pretty sedentary. Got to get my booty moving and get some more leg workouts in so I'm building muscle and increasing my metabolism. My other goal is to definitely increase my juicing because I'm not feeling the energy explosions that I did when I was drinking celery juice and carrot juice every day. I also have my next ultrasound coming up in one month for my thyroid and I've got to make sure I shrink that thing. I want to continue watching my calories and tracking it in the app so that I can see the patterns in my diet that are good and those that need to change.
