Are the refs good about letting you do a do over? I submitted the wrong picture and it said I lost. It was early and I wasn’t awake yet. I can do a video weigh in or whatever needed. I made goal but how do I prove it if I made an error?

  • I got verified this morning, but just got this fun little thing when I opened the app so I guess I'll celebrate again! So happy, finally at a check point weight I've been working hard to get towards and I'm lifting heavier than ever. Plus this is my first diet bet I was actually able to make weight before the bet closed and didn't have to use those two days to get the last few ounces off so this one is feeling like a great victory.

Yay! Just submitted my final weigh in and I was a whole 2 pounds lower than my goal! A little worried I'll have to resubmit pics though. I did everything the same as normal but for some reason my face kept being cropped out of the version of the pic I could see on the app. Hopefully the refs get a better view of the pictures than we get through the app. I took a bunch of different pictures but no matter what the app from my view either chopped off my head or me feet.

I was having this same problem this morning also!

  • Yay! I know I still cut it close but I'm so proud of myself! This is the only time since my first dietbet that I managed to hit my goal weight BEFORE the game ends! I made it the first bet I ever did then the last 2 or 3 I've been close when it closes and wait til the very last minute in the 48 hour weigh in video to make weight. This is also the first time I haven't just hit the goal on the nose and lost a bit extra! I'm also super happy because 165 was once a panic weight for me but now it's been a goal for me for about 2 years. Not only did I hit that goal finally, but I feel stronger and more athletic than I ever did when 165 was pannickingly high for me. Today is a good day!

That is awesome! Congrats on meeting your goals. 150 used to be my uh-oh weight, and now it's been my goal for close to a decade. So I can imagine how proud you are! Great job!

Here’s an odd question. Here in New Zealand, we’re in winter. This year, having lost weight, I find it really difficult to regulate my body temperature. My hands and nose get super cold. I seem to be colder than those around me (including very fit and healthy colleagues). Is there anybody else who struggles with cold after losing weight? How long does it take your body to adjust?

Last year I hit an all time low of 165 from an all time high of 329. I have been freezing ever since. I blew out my knee and had a spinal tumor and surgery to fix those issues so I did put about 60lbs back on and I’m still freezing.

Sammy

I’m definitely feeling the cold right now :joy: Hang in there, summers only a few months away hehe!

So yesterday I was just OUNCES from my 164.5 goal and today I woke up at 169... I did go over my calories the other day but not enough that I should reasonably be up more than 4 pounds! I am a few days away from my period so I feel like at least a couple of the pounds is that bloating but man it's sooooo annoying to be so close to your goal one day and wake up the next morning feeling bloated, dehydrated, and 4 pounds up... Yikes

Wow that really sucks!!! I feel you :( I haven’t lost much from my goal, and I don’t understand why. I’m going to a nutritionist, taking a treatment for my thyroid, exercising 2 hours a day and nothing . It’s really frustrating :pensive:

Becca

Water weight really messes with you! I'm the same way. I gain 5 "pounds" from my period every month and then it shoots back down a few days after it starts. Just drink a lot of water to help your body flush :)
Also working out hard makes you retain some water-it helps heal your overworked muscles.

I have 5 days to lose 2.3 pounds. It feels very doable but for some reason I am having the CRAZIEST junk food cravings. Pizza is my favorite food ever invented (in high school I literally are either pizza/ pizza rolls or some pizza themed product every day). My second favorite is dark chocolate. I haven't had either in a couple of weeks now and I'm FEELING IT. I'm torn, normally I would say "alright it's been a while you can have a couple of slices and a few bits of chocolate tonight" to satisfy the cravings and move on back to my prepped food tomorrow, but with such little time left in the bet it also feels like I should probably try to hold off and reward myself after I win the bet. Gonna head to the gym and give it a think during my cardio, but I feel like even just expressing my food cravings makes it easier to stop obsessing over them so I just wanted to "think out loud" on here for a minute.

You are so close to the end! I would say just wait but I know cravings can hit you hard sometimes lol. I love pizza too. I have eaten the lean cuisine pizzas in the past to give me some satisfaction but without too many calories. Also, thin crust pizza is a good compromise since the carb content is lower and calories are lower than traditional. If you feel like you can control yourself, I say enjoy a slice!

  • I try to make healthy versions of whatever I'm craving. I made a cauliflower pizza casserole that was delicious!

Ugh! "Aunt Flow" always adds 2 to 3 lbs on me during that week every month. And of course weigh in is during that time. Hopefully I can pull it off!

Same, it is such a struggle! I’m just chugging water at this point in hopes of a miracle!

So this dietbet I was stuck at my exact weigh in weight THE ENTIRE TIME. Out of curiosity I started weighing in the morning and night of course at night I would be a couple pounds up but in the morning I'd be right back at my starting weight. Of course I was bummed about probably losing the diet bet but honestly this is the lowest weight I've been at for years (and aside from numbers it is by FAR the most athletic I've been since I was a 3 sport -each -season athlete in highschool training 6+ hours a day. When I balanced everything out I was still happy, not losing numbers but feeling a lot better about my strength and abilities. Well a few days ago I got really serious about getting back into consistent intermittent fasting, and in the last 3 days I've lost a pound each morning I step on the scale. I don't know if I was accidentally miscalculating calories which the IF helped fix (weird since I've been weight almost all meals), or if it was just that acknowledging positive feelings about my body as-is took the stress off myself and made it easier to make progress. I don't know! Right now I'm about half way to the goal so I have zero clue if I'll win this bet either way feeling very happy about my recent experiences with my body.

Great job!! I have been doing 16:8 for 2 weeks now. The first week I lost 3lbs and this last week I stayed the same weight. I ate more calories on the 2nd week. I’m under the impression that you are to eat your normal amount of calories. I eat 1100-1500 daily. No??? Cheyenne, what is your schedule for fasting and what’s your caloric intake?
What’s evveyone else doing? Just trying to figure out how to properly IF!!

Cheyenne M.

Kelly, yes the best way to healthily do IF is to still hit your target calories within your window. I've been doing 16:8 lately as well and aiming for between 1200- 1400 calories.

Do you find cauliflower rice as filling as actual rice? I'm a vegetarian who has more 100% plant based days than anything else so I eat A LOT of rice and I'm very curious about switching to cauliflower rice

ALLISON M.

I feel just as full and actually better when I eat it. I don't feel so bloated. But I usually have it full of vegetables or mushrooms that help bulk it up... so definitely feeling.
