Non-scale victory of the week!

I volunteered for VBS and was busy with the most wonderful 5th graders

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I think I did quite well. I started everyday with lots and lots of water. Always 64 oz by the end of the day. I also started the day with protein. Bob Evans sausages are the best, much better than Jimmy Dean. Plus Bob Evans have 0 carbs. Jimmy Deans have 2! So after a protein breakfast and lunch and snack I don’t feel like eating much for dinner. It was easy staying under 1250 calories. I track every day. To make sure I am under carbs and calories. I save 200 calories at night for an Atkins caramel peanut bar. Tastes like a nut goodie. And I have consistently lost weight each day on this regimen. Forgot to mention that I walk 8,000 steps a day. If I win this transformer game I will have money to spend on another Step Bet. I lost the last one because I didn’t sink my phone in time for their weekly deadline. If I join again I will have to read the rules much more carefully. I’m sad that I didn’t make this bet but I’m happy that I now have a plan that I like and can live with and lose weight.

Charted before I smacked on high carb Granola. I was too hungry. I could have had a couple of sticks of string cheese and had a perfect day.

Non-scale victory of the week!

Joined StepBet!!! Have walked nearly 5 miles every day for 6 days and stuck to Keto (no bread, rice or dessert) at the restaurant that a friend took me to! And wasn’t hungry all night while everybody else was! For me, it pays not to eat a lot of carbs. I feel sooooo good. Last week when I endulged in a carb day it reminded me how awful I felt day after day before Keto. Not only did I still want more bread, chips and ice cream (not full) but I felt tired lethargic and depressed. Now I sleep well, wake up refreshed, don’t need sleeping aids anymore, and have energy to spare. Why would I ever want to go back to my old way of eating other than because it is a familiar bad habit. I am 7 lbs away from my final goal. And then I imagine I will have set some new ones to achieve..maybe not weight but other healthy accomplishments like finishing a quilt that I started last year and doing a 5K.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

Not tasted the new ice cream that I brought home for my husband.
