I want to put an end to the closet dramas; I actually love fashion, but not modeling it on my own body. I want to feel buoyant, rather than heavy. I want to have the energy and stamina to keep up with my kids. I want to climb rocks! :]

Non-scale victory of the week!

I did not eat strictly, but I didn’t overdo it at any time either. I was good at restaurants, having one cocktail which I didn’t even finish because it was too sweet. It was my go-to in the past, and this week it was meh.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I got caught up in needless drama on the internet, which threw me off for two solid days. I was triggered by something that hit home in deep psychological shadows, and I should have let it go for my own health. I’m back on track now, though, ready to tackle the weekend with renewed sense of self.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I WANT to go to the gym!! My body has been wanting to move, to lift, to train! I decided that I want to gain strength so that I can rock climb... that's my big "what can I do with this body" goal for now. I want to be a rock climber! I can feel my body responding to diet and craving healthy foods and exercise. It's the BEST FEELING!! It took a whole month and some weeks, but I have crested that hill and am so dang happy that I pushed through to get here!

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I could have been less obsessed with getting to the gym. I ended up overly frustrated and impatient with my kids because they were preventing me from getting to the gym, and all of us would have benefitted from me planning out a morning gym session instead of waiting for relief.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I went to the doctor, and at check in I marked all 0s for days I had felt depressed or hopeless in the past week, for the first time in my LIFE!! I also had blood work done, which came back 100% healthy! Cholesterol, triglycerides, everything is all in excellent shape.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I could have eaten more vegetables. I had a lot of meat, which was tasty, but it needs to be offset with a majority vegetables.

Non-scale victory of the week!

Went to my favorite Mexican restaurant that is usually my place to unwind with a cocktail. Alcohol didn't even sound good, though every friend who came had several drinks. I stuck to sparkling water and felt great! Except that I ordered a dish with way more salt than I expected, and ended up with a headache all day. Small, but ultimately big, steps!

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I could have ordered a salad instead of a salt-heavy protein platter, which would have kept my headache away. I could have made more of an effort to go for walks, but I've been emotionally invested in my tidying project, so I felt good about my level of exercise all week.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I didn’t go off track with food in any big way, even without an explicit time for meal prep! I had a celebratory mojito after signing the lease to our new apartment, and I paced myself with it, switching between that and water until it was gone, then enjoying water from then on. Interestingly, the effects of keto are strong on my psyche; I often opt out of breads and pastas, even though I could technically have some. I don’t like the energy empty carbs give me, and zoodles have easily replaced them without any question!

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I did ask Daniel to pick up a cupcake for me once, and also the night of pizza and joy. The pizza had me feeling gross af for two days, but the cupcake was okay. The pizza was my real sin, but, let’s be honest, occasional pizza is necessary for a healthy mind.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

I’d like to go to the gym a couple times at lease, and or do some yoga. I have an interest in loosening up some stiff joints and beginning to build muscle tone, especially in my arms, legs, shoulders, and abs.

Non-scale victory of the week!

I only drank one sip of my beer after going to the mall! Switched to iced tea and felt amazing.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I had too many “cheat meals” over the weekend and ended up bloated and salty.

Non-scale victory of the week!

Meal prep turned out to be the easiest part! Once I figured out a diet style that worked for me (whole foods only, no added salt or sugar), getting creative with my meals suddenly seemed like a piece of cake! I usually struggle to get inspired in the kitchen, but reducing the number of ingredients possible turned it into a fun challenge! Everything was delicious (except that one thing...) and I believe I can stick to this!

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I went out on Sunday night and had a “cheat” meal that (haha!) turned out to be 4x the “nutrition” I needed. I had two glasses of wine, and I think that plus all the salt has me feeling dreadful. When I go out next, I want to keep that in mind and not overdo it in any one area. Those chicken dishes are sounding much smarter in hindsight.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

Meal Prep Monday!! I want to have my fridge full of healthy, balanced options. Convenience is important, so I need to set myself up for success early in the week. My sleep was on point, so I’ll keep that up. It’s raining all week, so I will aim to hit the gym twice and do some yoga in the house.

Long-term goal weight

135 lbs

What do you find most challeging in reaching your long-term weight loss goals?

Scheduling time to prep meals for success. I end up reaching for junky convenience food when I have no energy to prepare a meal.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

Sleep earlier to get enough rest! I want to prep lots of healthy vegetables and sort out what type of diet lifestyle may work for me. I’ll probably charge up the ol’ Fitbit and start walking again. Feeling pretty motivated already by the financial investment. Interesting! Before image is me letting it out on the left, holding it in on the right.
