Life has been crazy and exhausting. However, I am so happy to say that I made my 10% goal this week!! I have more to lose, but it's so exciting to see the hard work paying off. Can't wait to get to my end goal!

I’m so close (again). Struggling to lose but maintaining isn’t as bad as it’s been in years past.
I started eating less this week and the scale is hardly moving. The hanger is getting worse by the day lol losing weight is hard when you’re from the south and food is oh so good!

I know we still have a little bit of time and I should still hit my goal, but just wanted to say don’t get discouraged by the people hitting their final goal. We all have different bodies and metabolisms and lives. I’m still so proud of us for even opening this app even just for the weigh ins. This is your life, your time. You are the only one who knows what you need and when and why.
What is your why? How is your why keeping you motivated?
Don’t lose sight of that!

Well said. Although I am happy for everyone achieving their goals and losing weight, it’s easy to feel a bit discouraged that they’re further along, or losing more weight, or whatever else… but as you said, we are all different, we have different lives, and different paths… the important thing is we keep moving forward, regardless of the speed, and the detours along the way. One step at a time. What is that saying, little by little one walks far :)

I've submitted my weigh-in this morning. Lost 30 pounds in 3 months and already hit the end goal of this game. I'm feeling really good and am at my lowest in about 3 years. I still have a lot more to lose... but I'm proud of how it's going.

Amazing job Sandy! Any advice to share on what kept you on track so well?

I track everything I eat and try to stay within 1700-1800 calorie range.
I upped my proteine intake to at least 100 grams a day. And I walk 7500+ steps, usually 10k.
Oh and I love doing a workout from 'Grow with Jo' on YouTube. I try to do one daily for 30 minutes.

  • Just under 2 weeks ago, I ran the NYC Half Marathon. Today, I was informed that I was selected to run the NYC MARATHON in November. Yes, *THE* infamous NYC MARATHON.

    What a great birthday present 🎁 (today is my birthday ????)

    Time to step up my game and get into the best shape of my life, as I was one of the last people to finish the Half Marathon - yikes!

  • Running the NYC HALF MARATHON was SOO much harder than I expected, but I did it - and I am grateful to be able to do it. A few years ago, I couldn’t even run a 5k (3.1 miles). So, I started with walking. Two days ago, I completed over 13 miles.

I hope you feel better soon! If you crave salt, you might need it! You can have salt without oils (i.e. not potato chips). The weight gain you experience from salt intake is temporary. It's not calories.

Procrastinating on laundry this weekend led me to a big NSV this morning.

I ran out of clean work shirts that fit me this morning and in a bit of a panic I grabbed a shirt from the “too small” part of my closet, hoping that it would be good enough with a sweater over it that I wouldn’t be embarrassed. But to my surprise, the shirt actually fits me with room to spare! This is a major confidence boost to start my day, and I’m excited to try everything on from that part of my closet and expand my work wardrobe with items I haven’t been able to wear for a while.

And to everyone that isn’t seeing the scale move in the way you’d hoped (I know I haven’t been!) maybe consider tracking body measurements. My experience this morning showed me that, while the scale isn’t moving, my body is still undergoing major positive changes!

I am struggling with snacking and just WANTING the sugar snacks. Even one a day can be too much, but “delay, don’t deny” isn’t super working for me rn :-/ I am sad.

Maybe take a look at your sleep/rest (not just quantity, but also quality). I know when I am tired my sweets and snacking drive is through the roof. I’ve been trying to prioritize consistent sleep habits and that has been really helping me to keep to my diet.

I also try “giving in” to the craving in a way that still meets my diet goals. Ie, I’ll have ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins) which provides a sweet(ish) treat that also has lots of fiber and fat to fill me up.
