  • We hit March and I feel like I hit a wall. We are only 4 days in to this month and I just don't want to anymore. I don't want to track calories. I don't want to turn down candy. I don't want to drink my water. I don't want to obsessively track if I'm going to hit this month's goal or not. I just don't want to. With all that being said I got up and did my workout this morning. I'm drinking my water, preparing my breakfast, and packing my lunch. While I might not be enjoying this particular phase of my journey I am enjoying not being out of breath getting dressed. I am enjoying the ability to play with my students when they ask me to. I am enjoying the increase in my mental health and mental stability. I am enjoying the ability to think more clearly. And I am enjoying that I can think about if I actually want that piece of candy instead of just inhaling it, and the entire bag it came in, like I used to do. I'm still in this. I'm still winning.

Good news: I'm the lowest weight that I've been in years.
Bad news: I still have 3 pounds to lose to hit this round's goal.
Anxiety: I'm already feeling anxious about if I can hit March's goal (and I don't tend to be an anxious person)😂

It’s a tall order but not impossible. However, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t meet the goal for one round. There are 4 more rounds and the last one counts the most! You are making continuous progress in the right direction and that’s the most important thing! Congrats on being the lowest you’ve been in years!! That’s awesome! I’m also the lowest I’ve been in at least 13 years and I’m still working, slowly but surely.

Down 12.8lbs - 3.1 to go for Round 2 goal. Tonight is my family birthday dinner. Trying to do the healthy thing - requested baked chicken with rice, steamed squash, and zucchini. (Instead of the meatloaf or lasagna I really wanted) I’m going to buy the smallest chocolate cake I can get that will serve 9 people with no leftovers to bring home. It’s actually the pre-dinner snacks I will probably struggle with the most. I think my mother-in-law said she’s getting either a fruit or veggie tray. Just need to avoid the crackers and dip and bowls of nuts and M&M’s she’s liable to put out. I’ve never lost a Diet Bet since I started doing these in 2016 - I am not going to sabotage myself. I can do this.

    Chicken breasts were buy 1 get 1 free this weekend. So expect to see a lot of chicken dishes this week.

I've got to tell y'all what a week I had. My son gave me a book, 4 Hour Body. The only part I used of the book was the diet. It's "Slow Carbs". After doing it for a week I lost 6 lbs in 6 days. I haven't EVER done that. Today is Cheat Day. Eat anything I want then go back on it tomorrow. The weight you pick up today will disappear within 1-2 days and you go back to losing again. I'll keep ya posted. I'm very excited about this. Thought I'd share. I made 2nd round already.

Karlene, thanks for answering that. I left town for a few days and internet was down. Lots of beans! Protiens are pretty easy. Probably do it for few weeks and see how sustainable it will be . Great results when I seemed to need them.

You can do it!!! I have about the same. But as long I work out daily and don't have a cheat meal I should be good. Hang in there!! If we don't pull it off at least closer to round 3 goal. Hopefully some of it is salt/water for us. I had a bad few days too last week.
