I'm not sure who the "everyone" is that is putting you down, but like you said, you are the only one that you need to worry about making happy. Chances are that those people would just find something else to criticize anyway, because it's probably built into their character. Surround yourself with positive people and positive vibes. Put the past where it belongs - behind you. Learn from it, and then leave it.
