I can so totally relate to your anguish. It sounds like you're headed back in the
right direction. I will pat you on the back now!! High five!
I just returned from a two month away from home assignment. While away, I fell off course with my diet and exercise and couldn't work out a plan that fit my schedule. Needless to say, I lost the last two months bets.
Upon my return (1 week ago) I got a severe cold that knocked the life out of me for four days. I'm still weak and tired but I'm ready to get on the move and take it one day at a time..."one foot in front of the other."
I believe this is something still within my reach and will make a good go at winning the next bet.
It can only get better! Good Luck!

So sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. Just DON'T GIVE UP! You should definitely continue to get out in the fresh air. Taking the time to walk and have quiet time is not only good exercise, it's also wonderful for your mental health. It's OK, necessary even, to feel whatever you are feeling...but don't stay in it too long. Don't let what's wrong in your life rob you of what is and can be right!!

I have soooo been in the place you are describing, and I know its easier to give advice and support than to take it....but you've got this. You are outlining great steps you are taking to see a doctor, seek counseling, etc. Making healthy choices are part of that too. You can do this!!

Slow down...breathe!...take care of your body, and your mind and spirit are helped as well!

thank you so much for the support. Sometimes that's all I need to keep me plugging along; to hear someone else tell me that I can do it. Just because I hit a road block, doesn't mean that there isn't another route. I'll find it.

I did go for my walk. It was overcast and cool. The air felt good; freshened my mind. My energy level was very low and my feet felt like led, but I pushed myself to walk at least around our neighborhood a couple blocks. It wasn't much, but I do pat myself on the back for getting up and out of the house to do that.
Exercise: If I have to do it, it had better be fun or productive

Do you have a rotating shift? Sometimes midnight, and after a week or two it's at another time? That sure is tough on the body....

I think that doing "natural" workouts like your yard work is super healthy. You're burning calories and working all your muscles at the same time. That's awesome!

Good luck to you and stay with it!

Kim

Thank you Lex and Jonelle. I could use all the encouragement I can get. Lex, I am in a permanent Night Shift position, so I don't have to deal with getting use to different shifts and sleep hours. That's a plus.

Jonelle: The Pepsi was my hardest habit to set aside. But, I knew that it wasn't good for me. I'm not a Coffee drinker, so I basically gave up my caffeine cold turkey. Diet Pop is out of the question, I can't stand the stuff. If I can't have the real thing, I don't want any at all, so that's that. Actually, I'm doing a lot better without it than I thought I would. I am now Pepsi-free!!! Ha!

I like your idea of not eating until you get your
day planned out. Simple but effective, Planning is the key to success
In everything. Best of luck
