Monkey Chakra, congrats on your awesome weight loss! Way to go! I'm hosting a new diet bet, "Fatty No More," which begins after Labor Day on Friday, Sept. 6. The bet is only $20. The weigh in dates are Sept. 4,5 and 6. The game ends on Friday, Oct. 4.

The last diet bet I hosted 90% ended making their weight loss goal. We already have a really motivated group of "losers" onboard. Would love to have you join us. Check it out! http://www.dietbetter.com/games/19012

Thanks so much! Just have to keep the last pound off until weigh-out! I'm definitely interested in starting another DB, but I'm not sure if I want to wait until after Labour Day. I was thinking of giving myself a weekend off then starting a new one on Monday the 26th, as I have a history of taking time off from DB, and gaining back the weight I lost! I'm afraid to take 2 whole weeks off, especially during the Labour Day weekend! So, I think I'll have to pass, but I really appreciate the invite! I'll miss you in my next game!

Gailsy

I know what you mean. I just keep the weight loss going in between Diet Bets. I am always in the maximum number of games each time. You can start another one right away and also join Fatty No More if you're so inclined. The group is already really active and super motivated. Congrats on winning Elizabeth's Diet Bet. Whoo HOO!

Thanks for the encouragement Frances! You're right, I CAN do it. I ran for 20 minutes this morning before work, and just got back from 30 minutes of Zumba. Now I'm back at my desk munching on veggies!

Try the sweet potato brownies drew posted. They are pretty good. Banana and peanut butter is something I like. I loooove frozen blueberries covered in milk and sprinkled with truvia. Soooo good.

wow way to go girl! share your tips, what are you doing to lose the weight and keep it off?

monkeychakra

Thanks Kim! Losing it is one thing, keeping it off will be another. One step at a time! As for what I'm doing to lose it, I've posted them in a previous comment below. Thanks for the cheer!

awesome thanks so much girl, Kim and I are starting a game on Monday so I am just really starting to get into a routine as I haven't really had one all winter but I seem to have a lot more energy since I started moving again. I will definitely check out myfitnesspal I have seen it mentioned a couple of times. cheers to you!!

Hi! Congrats on your weight loss! We weighed almost the exact same at the start... and unfortunately I still have 4.8 pounds to lose. I have to admit - I haven't been focusing that much on weight loss as I have in the past. I have been working out 4-5 times a week consistently, and have been eating decently... I'm actually kind of surprised I haven't lost more. How have you lost the weight?? I'm curious - since we weighed the same! Also, how tall are you? I'm 5'6.

monkeychakra

Well I'm 5'3" I'm sure you're carrying it better. I've lost it by doing approx 1 hour of cardio (2x30-min sessions) 5 times a week (plus "Workout Wednesday" with my friend, wherein we play Dance Central, or swim, or go to her condo gym). I was running on the weekends until I injured my knee doing so, now I'm not exercising on the weekends (short of the renovations we are doing on our house). Food-wise I'm reducing the amount of white carbs I eat, and upping the amount of fresh veggies and fruits. I also gave up beer--one of my main vices--which has helped immensely. I'm not perfect at it and have had my slip-ups along the way (hell, I even had McDonald's breakfast this morning), but I try as best I can to work my unhealthy choices into my caloric allowance for the day. Speaking of, I use MyFitnessPal to track my food. I hope this info helps!

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I just don't get how someone could steal someone's footwear...in the WINTER. Ugh.

Nice first place! Keep it up!

monkeychakra

Aww thanks man. I'm sure it's mostly water weight-loss right now, and I'll have to weigh myself mid-day to see how it compares to my initial weigh-in. Also, I think cutting out beer has helped immensely. =P

Allen

I weighed in 'in the morning after bathroom' at about 4-5lbs lower than 'at night after eating'. The swing is crazy.
