Sorry to butt in and maybe you already know this, but I'm sharing because someone shared with me: Happy Scale app- it tracks your weight every day and throws out the outliers and gives an overall weight trend. It helps to not freak out over an increase, if it really is just a one day shift, etc.

I don't know where the "free food" fits in - probably social. I can't help myself when it's free. The feeling to me being around free food is like that food is being discontinued and I will need be able to eat it again ... SO MUST EAT NOW!! TACTIC: I remind myself I can buy it anytime I want ... it's not that expensive. Today it's just not worth the calories.
