I’ve tried to post a couple of times, but I realized after the last time that DietBet doesn’t like the “pregnant” emoji. I posted early in the bet that I wanted to surpass goal, get pregnant, then use the remainder of the game to stay motivated to not gain a lot of weight in the first trimester. Wasn’t sure it would happen like I wanted but it did!
I’m about 4 lbs below goal, so I’ll just be focused on maintaining, eating healthy foods, and continuing a good exercise routine (about 20 running miles per week and some strength training) for the rest of the game. My goal is to not gain more than 2 lbs in the first trimester-recommended gain is 0-5 lbs and I’m overweight so I’m going to give myself grace but stay focused.
I will say that basically as soon as I took the pregnancy test last week, I started making mental excuses for why I shouldn’t exercise and why I should eat dessert...haha. This is my third pregnancy and I feel way more prepared to ignore those excuses this time, though, and I have so far. I also weigh less than I did in either of my other pregnancies-14 lbs less than the next closest! Super excited about this
