I'm going on vaca from the 3-10. I will weigh in at the hotel. Do the judges have a problem if the scale is not the same one I usually have in the pictures, or are they cool about it?

Emily what kind of travel scale did you get?

Suzanne A.

I have weighed on my scale, my son’s, and my daughter’s with no problems. The only issue will be if they weigh the same as yours!

I’m back up to my starting weight after being on a business trip all week. I thought I choose healthy meals but wasn’t able to exercise there. Oh well-back to it double time!!

Flying also causes water retention! You've got this.

Ah, good to know!! I was on a long flight and got home last night.

  • It fits! I'm not crying, you're crying.

I bought this dress probably 5 years ago. At the time it was a bit too snug to wear comfortably. But I was planning to lose weight so I kept it.

That didn't happen. The opposite happened. When I was getting ready to move and cleaning out clothes, I couldn't even get it past my hips and on my body. But I couldn't bear to give it up because I loved it (and it's an expensive Ellie Tahari dress!)

I tried it on for a friend's wedding for St. Patrick's day last month. It didn't fit but was closer. I've tried it on every week since. Tonight I was getting ready to go to dinner so I gave it a shot and IT FIT! I wore it to dinner, where I was pretty overdressed. And then I wore it out to a bar where I was REALLY overdressed. And I've never felt so fabulous.

So, question- I’ve never done a transformer before... I’ll be in Vegas May 5-10, am I going to miss the first weigh in?? Can I weigh in before I go or after I get back?

Honestly, even if you aren't able to do a round 1 weigh in, you aren't really missing much as far as winnings. I've done enough of these transformers that you really only lose out on the initial $12.50 bet for the round and your split of the round 1 pot which is usually only a couple of dollars. Pot split gradually increases each round as less people make goal. You'll more than make up for missing round 1 weigh in by making the 10% goal at the end of the transformer.

As Christina said you have until midnight on the 10th (PDT) to weigh in. I weighed in at the hospital a few weeks with no problem. BTW, they will accept an older full length photo so take one before you leave and then you won’t need to ask someone to do that.

How’s everyone doing?? My scale is inching lower but slowly! I am worried I won’t made the 3% by the first month! What are your tips for squeezing out extra calories from your day?

My fitness pal helps me so much! It really holds you accountable.

Emily M.

The first month is a lot for me. 3% is big when you've already been losing. Not sure why we need to lose almost 1/3 of the weight in only the first 1/6 of the bet! Oh well. Last one is what counts!

Even though I cannot walk up and down hills as I'm recovering from an ankle injury (and i live in a hilly city) I put my dog in my car and drove to the park at the bottom of the hill today and yesterday so we could walk on the flat path along the creek.

Great job finding a way to make it work for you!

Hi everyone. I read a post from last week that had a great question and I thought it warranted repeating for any new people. I posted the information from the DietBet Transformer Rules on the comment. If you haven't already reviewed them I recommend that you do they are located at https://www.dietbet.com/transformer/rules . The question was about what happens if you lose more than your goal for the current round. Which in most cases is fantastic, you are just that much closer to the next rounds goal. But, I have been in Transformers where people were disqualified for losing too much too fast. You would have to lose way more than I am capable of but this is from the rules:
Disqualification. Each round in Transformer has its own disqualification threshold. If you lose more than the maximum allowed weight, you will be disqualified for the remainder of the game. This is to prevent players from going overboard or using bariatric procedures during the game.
•Round 1 - 12%
•Round 2 - 18%
•Round 3 - 24%
•Round 4 - 27%
•Round 5 - 30%
•Round 6 - 30%
Also, you can be disqualified for losing more than 12% in a round. For example, your starting weight is 200 pounds and at the end of Round 1 you were 192 pounds. If you then lost more than 23 pounds in Round 2 (that is, more than 12% of 192 pounds), you would be disqualified.

The people that were disqualified in previous bets for losing too much claimed they didn't know the rules and thought it was unfair. I just want everyone to know they are out there and are worth reading.

Thanks for posting. It should be on a link so people can see it before signing up. This is very helpful. I’ll make sure not to workout to hard.

Jules

I wish I could even come close to these numbers. 30% for me would be 50 pounds. 12% would be 20 pounds in a round.

How do you all motivate yourself to work out? my goal is 5 days a week but i usually only go 3-4 days a week. I'm always SO exhausted after work and its pure torture forcing myself to go to the gym. I always feel amazing after my workout but my body doesn't ever remember that amazing feeling when its time to go. How do you get past the internal struggle? I seriously have fights with myself just to get myself to the gym. Its horrible.

There are a lot of articles on the internet/YouTube's about going to bed early/getting up early, try Google'ing "waking up at 5am changed my life." I go to sleep at 9, wake up at 5. The first couple days were rough, but now I LOVE going to bed early. It makes it easier to wake up, and I also use a "Phillips Wake-Up Light" alarm clock. It mimics the sunrise which helps you to not have to wake up to a dark room. Hope this helps!

In the beginning it was a lot of talking myself into it and reminding myself of my goals. Over time I’ve found workouts that I love and it’s easier to do them. Sometimes I still have to talk myself into them but it’s rare and mostly when I’m way too tired but I still do it. Plus I have a long streak on closing all my rings on my Apple Watch and my need for continuing helps me want to do it
