Paola! How have you been? Work has been crazy and I haven't been able to check into Dietbet as much as I wanted. I miss the community! How are you doing this round?

You can. I KNOW you can! We've seen you do it, after all!

COHikerGirl

Oh, God ... it's going to be SUCH a close thing making it this round, for me. Yikes! Heading down to work out, right now!

Ooooooooooooooooooo, having one of those "I'm so tired of being so good" attacks, I'm betting. But you can bring it in. I'm having to do the same, 'cause I REALLY have to buckle down and work out HARD to make it on my second Transformer game, for the upcoming March round. Yikes! At least we have the spring sunshine lengthening the days, so it's a lot more pleasant finding days to get out there and enjoy working out. Hang in there and make it happen, Paola! (And I'll do the same ...)

Paola C.

More like: I just temporarily moved to Michigan and it's very f***ing cold and I just want to snuggle my boyfriend while wrapped in a million blankets :P I'll have to get back to working out, yes... tomorrow. Valentine's without chocolate isn't worth it hahaha

COHikerGirl

I'm sitting here laughing out loud for REAL, reading that. Yup, as they say, "It's colder than a witch's ..." well, YOU know. ;D Snuggle away! That's what the cold is GOOD for. (Well, that, and skiing.) For me, Valentine's Day without chocolate is just FINE, because my husband replaced it with a certificate for a free massage! Woo-hoo!

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!! I am sitting here 'dancing in my armchair' in celebration for you! THAT IS SO WONDERFUL!!!

Paola C.

:DDDDD you're awesome, you know that, right? I don't think I've ever had anyone that was so vocally supportive of me, especially without knowing me! Here, on MFP... You're great! Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face again!

YAY, Paola! I see you lost 1.3 pounds on your last weigh-in! Cool. You're pretty much at 75% of where you need to be, to win this round, so it's TOTALLY do-able. Kick it hard, and bring in the win, girl.

I went looking for this after we chatted earlier ... it's from Jillian Michaels' stuff, and I thought it was pretty good, so here it is for you: "I bet you hate breaking plans you've made with others? Then stop breaking them with yourself. Hang a calendar on your refrigerator, by your desk, or in your bedroom — somewhere you can see EVERY day. Take a hard look at your plans – do you have a work dinner? Do your kids have soccer after school? Look at your weekly schedule as a WHOLE and pencil in your workouts accordingly. If you have evening plans one day, wake up early that morning to get a circuit workout in before work. If you know you can only fit in 30 minutes of exercise one day — make that day a cardio day, since my circuit workouts can take up to 45 minutes. Be flexible, plan ahead — and stick to that plan as best you can."

Hi Paola! How are you doing? I've been absent, so I haven't been up to date with the happenings in the community. Hope you are doing well!

Paola C.

Hey Lindsay... I've been pretty out of it myself. My boyfriend leaves tomorrow, I just hope I'm not too depressed to get back on track... How are you doing?

COHikerGirl

It might work the other way 'round, Paola. I was totally depressed some days back, and all the encouragement I got, on here, to get out and work out was what got me OUT of it. So even when your boyfriend leaves, and ESPECIALLY if you're feeling down, that's the time to drag yourself out there. Once you're there, you feel better. At least that's how it turned out, for me. Hang in there, girl.

OK!!! It's AFTER CHRISTMAS!!! We can now FOCUS ON OURSELVES AND DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO (dammit). Yep, I'm re-committing and re-focusing and returning to healthy ways after indulging a little too much for Christmas. It's time to turn that page ... HELP ME DO IT. I need a little encouragement, today ...

Paola C.

Ugh, I'm completely out of it myself... My boyfriend leaves tomorrow so maybe I can get back on track then, if I'm not too depressed... But I doubt that I'll make this month's goal anyway :(

COHikerGirl

Wow, I hear you, Paola. SO clearly. Man, I just about lost it when I saw my small post-Christmas gain. I'm lucky I had some folks on here who helped me get past it -- my optimism has returned, along with a realistic viewpoint. You can recover ... and it may or may not be for this month's weigh-in, sure, but YOU CAN RECOVER and get back to doing all the good things that let you lose the weight bit-by-ever-so-tiny-bit. With your boyfriend leaving, you can turn around, and make your environment and your habits exactly what you want them to be. Nobody else to get in your way, now ... it's all you, FOR you. Sit down, make a plan, then stand up and go work out! Then stick to your plan, girl! Make it do-able and realistic and manageable, not some crazy impossible-to-keep-up regimen you can't truly live with. Just go for the small losses ... they'll serve you better in the long run, anyway.

DIETING TECHNICAL TIP: Don't forget that *as you lose weight, the amount you should be eating each day DIMINISHES." If you are using MyFitnessPal or a similar tool, RECALCULATE YOUR CALORIC INTAKE GOAL from time to time -- at least every 10 pounds or so. This can be CRITICAL as an element of 'plateauing.'I just re-calculated mine, and the new goal number was almost 100 calories less per day!
