I have been back tracking so much. I hate to keep paying to fail, but part of me is so determined to finish and see this thing through!!!

I turn 30 at the end of this month and my goal is to be down a pant size and loose some of my “kangaroo pouch” as I call it. Lol. I have 3 kids, and my youngest is now 5 months old… I no longer have excused on why I haven’t gotten better. Except when I’m nursing I feel like I want to eat the entire house and feel like I can never get full. Ugh.

Happy almost birthday!!!!

I know what you mean. I have two kids. I only nursed the first kid for 6 weeks and lost the weight during that time. I nursed the second for a year and was too hungry and tired to even try until to lose weight until I was done nursing. Then, it still took me several months. I was also ten years older, had a more stressful job, another kid on my hands, and less time for myself.

@JLynn is right. Changing habits and losing weight is hard. Trying to do that while raising 3 kids and nursing hard. Give yourself some grace and space to learn while you focus on one or two easy actions that will help you reach your goals. Maybe it’s sleep more, dance more, drink more water, ask someone to watch the kids while you prep a meal for the week.

I like to eat the 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn when I’m feeling hungry or like I just want to eat. Helps give me that hand to mouth satisfaction and is decently filling. Maybe you can try adding that to a snack rotation to keep you filled while nursing?
You can also practice burning calories in quick ways while you have time - squats while you brush your teeth, park farther away, walk in place while you watch tv. Simple stuff adds up.

You have the determination to do it! Im sure you’ll be on track really soon <3

Today is testing day at our school. Parents brought in all sorts of snacks and we have a catered lunch later. Usually, I refuse everything and bring my own lunch OR I spend the day binge eating and regretting it. Today, I decided that I was going to enjoy lunch and maybe some treats. I just chose a chocolate chunk cookie from the table. I ate two bites and decided it wasn't that good. I threw the rest away. This is a major shift for me - I wasn't throwing it away to "be good" and I didn't say "f-it" and eat it anyway. This feels different and good. I can eat or not eat a cookie😊.

P.S. I maintained my weight this week after weigh-in. Whoot whoot!

  • 32 pounds down. I’ve lost all the weight to end of round 6 and then some. In past, I’ve had almost no success with diets. Typically I’d do it for a few days then fall right off the wagon again. There must be something magical about these DietBets; I have been laser-focussed for months. Anyway couldn’t be happier. Best of luck to everyone!

To answer your question-low carb and intermittent fasting. Mostly on my plate you will see at least half the plate veggies, half the plate meat. For cheese I’ve stopped buying sliced and just have some feta cheese to sprinkle on things as needed. I eat a small amount of berries plus some tea with sweetener. I fast maybe twice a week for 16 hours or so. During the fast it’s not a true fast - I find it easier to eat 2 cups of veggies every 3.5 hours with small amounts of dressing/sauces as needed. I’m not journaling much right now but I have in the past. If I eat a serving of meat I make sure the next thing I eat is a serving of veggies. I allow myself a couple of treat days a month.

You can email support@waybetter.com and see if there is anything you can do. If you are not able to weigh-in early, other options are to check a hotel gym or another gym in the area for a scale you can use for your photo.

  • My FAVORITE kind of spaghetti!

    In the oven: (at 350 for 20-30 minutes)
    Spaghetti squash cut in half and gutted
    - lightly sprayed with cooking oil salt and peppers upside down on a cookie sheet with 1 garlic clove smushed underneath.
    This acts as the “noodles”.

    In a frying pan:
    • Cherry tomatoes cut in half
    • Kale
    • Spinach
    • Onion
    • fresh basil leafs
    And a dash of steak seasoning

    Oh and of course tofu if you choose.
