So its only the opening days of my first ever Diet Bet and already I am down more than 4 pounds since my starting weigh in. It actually put me at my round 1 goal. This incredible drop in weight can only be one thing: water weight. A diet book I read carefully explained that water weight, though exciting and refreshing to lose, is not real weight loss. We only "own" this weight loss after several weeks of real dedication. I can attribute my high starting weight to not following any good eating habits prior to the Diet Bet. Since starting the game I have stopped all those bad habits and converted to a low carb, high calcium plan. Man, it makes a difference - the water weight is just falling off. Of course I love it, and I just have to keep it up so this water weight will turn into real weight loss.
