All of my work pants are too big, so I ordered a pair of cute slacks from the Limited. I optimistically ordered a size 8, thinking that they would be great motivation as something to work towards. They arrived yesterday and I tried them on to see how far I had to go.

And they fit perfectly.

I almost cried. I haven't been a size 8 since high school. I dug all of the size 14, 12, and 10 pants, jeans, and skirts out of my drawers and closet. I tried everything on. EVERYTHING was too big. I've been wearing so many dresses lately that I hadn't even noticed how loose everything was.

I loaded up all of the too-large stuff into the trunk of my car and dropped it all off at the Goodwill dropbox.

Too rash! What if I need those again? What about Thanksgiving pants?

Too often before I have dieted, dropped a size and not gotten rid of the larger size. When I've slipped back into my old ways and gained the weight back, I would just start wearing the larger size again.

NO MORE!!!

If I don't have the larger sizes in my closet, when my pants start to get too snug, I'm going to have to check myself.

I know we've all said it before, but I am going to say it again:

We are making lifestyle changes, not just dieting.

I never intend to be a size 14, 12 or even 10 again! Not anytime soon anyway.

Good luck to everyone!
