I'm now 6 weeks through a few DietBets and definitely feeling better. General changes include:
- Average 15,000 steps and 20 floors / day.
- Try to schedule meetings a floor or two above or below me.
- Try to schedule meetings in other buildings (on the 2nd or 3rd floor, if I know where the stairs are).
- Try to use the restroom a floor above or below me.
- Avoid bread (but haven't cut them out completely).
- Hike 1x week: been going on short hikes early in the morning, since it has been so hot.
- Limit to only water and drip coffee, with a "budget" of 2 cheat beverages (usually a mini Frappuccino or Americano). This has slipped with a couple of happy hours, though.
- Try to schedule meetings a floor or two above me in my building or in another building to take the stairs more.
- Weights/strength training 2x / week.
- Cardio 2-3x / week.
- Swim 1x / week (just started this a couple of weeks ago).
I've lost about 5% of my starting weightand hit all goals thus far. Unfortunately, I seem to have hit a wall. Keep gaining a couple of pounds and have to struggle to get back to where I started in the prior week. It's been about two weeks of this, so hopefully it'll go away with some slight increases in the items above.
