Have you tried couch to 5k? It's a really gentle introduction to starting to run. I'm around 240lbs, and I run some ridiculously slow 5ks. I wouldn't say I was any 'good' at it yet, but it can feel like such an achievement. Every time you get out there and do something active, you are doing something good for your health, so even if you start of just with some brisk walking, you should be proud of yourself.

Hi Kirsty, I haven't tried it because I don't have a phone that would help me along with that. I tried counting, but it didn't work all that well. I know they have an app that will tell you when to run/walk and I think that would be really helpful. Right now I am going to start out walking. I am so out of shape, I think that would be the best place to start.

Walking is a great start. Anything that gets you out of breath will do. Remember, the only person you are competing with is who you were yesterday.
