First, I am really excited about getting started. No better way to show it than the fact I went to the gym tonight instead of out at a bar for a drink. I got in 10,000 steps plus did a little weight lifting although I am embarrased to tell you how little weight I lift lol.

I've been overweight since I was about 28. For many years I stayed around 220-240 lbs. It didn't seem too large but it was a weight where I new I was over weight but didn't consider myself obese. Fast forward to 2007. I got a job in an office and going from construction where I moved every minute of the day to sitting down all day long, I gained 10 pounds a year for the last seven years.

For the first time in a long time, I feel like I am in control of my future and my weight loss. I am using LoseIt to track my food intake, Fitbit to measure my exercise and Dietbet for the motivation.
