Barry, the thing that makes DietBet unique compared to other forums is that we all have traveled down the same road, & we can relate to each other's experiences. The blinders come off, & we open up & share what we're really going through. If I hadn't joined DietBet, I don't think I would have ever public announced that I'm an emotional eater. My family always looks at me as the strong one, but never in their life would they believe that I have a problem with food. Posting it made me accountable for my actions. Since then, I've become more consciously aware of what I'm doing whenever a situation arises that causes me to get upset or stressed. The beautiful thing is I'm not turning to food for comfort. WOOHOO!!! It's hard, but I'm doing it!!! So far so good!!! :-)

Good luck in this challenge!!! Always remember, we're here for you!!! :-)

Great blog Barry. Interesting that you noticed the "aloneness" aspect of your journey. One thing I've noticed is that I'm alone until I invite someone to join me. One thing I am realizing is that so many people are alone and would love to be invited to join in an activity, a walk, a meal, a connection...it really doesn't matter. I think all of us want to be included. It's also interesting that it isn't just people of a larger size but we do tend to isolate ourselves more than the average isolated being. Hmmm...you make me think and that's a good thing. Perhaps you could invite someone else to join you...just a thought.

Welcome to your team Barry! You can do this...we all are on the same road cheering each other every step of the way. One thing I'm learning is to check in daily, post your struggles and victories and reach out and be vulnerable. There are loads of reasons to do this but basically...IT WORKS!!! Good luck and see less of you soon. Onward and Downward...
