Half Marathon Training, Day 1-- WTH have I gotten myself into!?!

Awesome, you've got this! I ran my first 5k in my mid thirties and ran my first half marathon about 4 months after that. You've got a shorter than normal training period but that's not going to stop you from kicking butt. Enjoy the event and don't worry about your pace or time. Completing that distance, jogging, walking, or even drug ;-) across the finish line is a huge accomplishment. Make sure you have a nice pair of running shoes or you could run into feet or knee pains ramping up the miles so fast. I'd go to a running store and have them recommend a good pair of shoes based on how you run.
