Ugh, I am so stiff and sore.  I simply did NOT feel like going to the gym this morning, but my Mom and I went anyway.  I did my 3.75+ miles on the treadmill and I did the "rolling hills" program so there was a lot of incline involved.  So, my heart rate got up to 200 and averaged 150, and that was not really good for somebody 63 years old.  Maybe there was too much rolling in those hills. :)  I guess I'm used to FLAT Florida.  Then we decided to get in the pool like we always do and it was FREEZING!  Oh wow, I've never gotten in there when it was that cold. BRRRRRR.......I found out that I would NEVER join the Polar Bear Club, lol.

Foodwise, I'm doing pretty good.  I really haven't had anything that would be considered a "no-no".  Yet the weight is up and down which is why I am against weighing every day, but I have done this during this competition just to keep an eye on my weight.

Carol is going to come up with another climb and distance exercise for us.  We did Big Ben already.  I think we are going to do a new one on Wednesday.  She has some great ideas!

My friend, Kathy, is doing really well also.  Like me her weight is up and down, but she is sticking with the program.  I know it is especially hard for her to stay off the prednisone and anybody that has been on it for a long time (I can vouch for this one!) knows that the weight really balloons out when you are on it. I have a t-shirt that says prednisone is my best friend and my worst enemy.

So, my advice for now is to STICK WITH THE PROGRAM.  I have been reading some of the comments that fellow dietbet competitors (is that the right name for us?) have written and I have noticed that some are starting to get disheartened.  Don't do it!  You will just be sorry tomorrow and if you don't get the weight off now, when ARE you going to get it off?  It isn't going to leave you in the middle of the night some time.  It's still going to be there when you are buying summer clothes. UGH.  This is absolutely the perfect time to lose those extra pounds, it really is.  But, saying that it is HARD.  It is hard.  Sometimes it's boredom that makes us eat, sometimes it's inattention to what is on our plates, sometimes it's just easier (to eat more caloric food).  There are a lot of reasons.  So, if you really want something, look at it and ask if it's worth it.  Is it worth an hour on the treadmill, is it worth dealing with it tomorrow.  Sometimes it really is worth is, sometimes you just have to have that queso dip.  But, you are going to probably be sorry tomorrow.  So, always think "what about tomorrow".

Saying that, I need to take my own advice! :)
