So this is late, but I've been doing pretty well so far! I've lost 3 pounds (was it the weight I put on over CNY that bounced back down? I don't even know anymore) and I've been logging every single thing that I eat! I just went out running and my legs feel like lead.

Anyhow, I was just thinking about self control. It's really the weakest thing about myself, and I don't do it well. I have no self control over eating, studying, exercising, waking up on time, watching TV shows etc., but I noticed something interesting over the past week. I have been extremely (if I can say so myself!) disciplined about logging everything I eat, and as a result, I've become kind of focused on the eating portion of my life, making sure I do portion control and everything - just making sure that I'm not overeating, essentially. Following this, I've found that I'm more focused when I'm studying, and can go on for hours (which is really helpful!). Also, I feel generally stronger - like I have more of a spring in my step and I don't mind walking for longer or going up stairs as opposed to the elevator.

I've been steadily decreasing in weight over the last week with just controlling my diet, but for some reason I gained weight the day after I went to the gym. It's kind of weird - I mean, does muscle even build up that quickly? I know I definitely didn't overeat on the day (I ate something like 1000 calories?) Maybe it really is the 'water weight' that I lost. I'm really not sure.

Anyway, I'm excited to see my progress.
