I am most successful at weight loss when I keep my routine - that means eating my pre-planned meals, keeping to my fluid intake, and walking and strength training up to six times per week. Well, this week and next I am traveling for work purposes and find that my routine is so hard to keep.

I never sleep as well as I do at home. This of course leaves me with less energy during the day. While I can control the first and last hour of my day, everything in between is varied from day to day and includes lots of meetings, lunches, happy hours, and dinners. Of course I'm being careful on what I pick from menus, but when you don't make the dishes it is harder to know what hidden calorie bombs there may be and how much salt was used.

Not only is it harder to make the right food choices, but it has been nearly impossible to make time to exercise or have little energy to do so when I find a free hour.

I'm beginning to enter a time of more regular travel, so hopefully I'll get better at find ways to keep things on track!
