Continuing with the sugar detox I outlined in my post on Monday, here is a recap of day two.

The day started off well with a cheddar cheese omlette loaded with spinach, peppers and onion.  It was delicious.

I accidentally ordered my coffee with milk instead of cream (but also realized that cream has 1 g of sugar in it, too).

I ate out for lunch, and thought I was doing pretty well ordering the 100% beef burger with no bun, bacon and cheese.  I topped it with tomatoes, lettuce, onion and only one pickle slice, and enjoyed a nice side salad with very little dressing.

Dinner was a bit of a mess with left over stirfry sans rice, but with a tomato soup based sauce, a side of veggies, and some almond butter.  Still not enjoying the almond butter as much as processed peanut butter (with the delicious salts and sugars), but it's growing on me.

I had another late night at work, and I came home craving chips.  Instead I enjoyed some more summer sausage and laughing cow cheese.  I'm feeling satisfied now.

Overall, better food than yesterday, but the carbs and sugar still seemed to creep in.  Aside from tonight, no major food cravings, but I can tell I'm not getting enough fibre.  Does anyone have any suggestions to up that without grains or fruit?

For those interested, I ate abotu 1600 calories today, and the breakdown is as follows:

* Carbs: 26%

* Fat: 48%

* Protein: 25%

I consumed 30g of sugar total today (which is higher than I'd like).  Most of it came from lunch and dinner, which I didn't prepare myself.

I'll try harder tomorrow.
