2 weeks ago I was on track. I was eating healthy, moving 30,000 steps a day and burn 5000 calories a day. The weight was melting off. So what happened, after 3 months on track?

Injury!

It was a Saturday, I went to the gym and remember thinking today you are going to push past 30,000 steps. Let’s try to hit 35,000 steps and maybe 40,000 steps. I did an extra 10,000 steps in running on the track. I walked out of the gym feeling amazing. My day went on and I was super excited about hitting this new threshold on my fitbit.

The next morning started with a slight sharp pain in the top of the foot. I thought, “that doesn’t feel right, go light today.”

I did about 5000 steps that day and woke up the next morning unable to put any pressure on the foot. I thought, “arch supports, ice, stretch, stay off it.”

That one day turned into a week and then a week and a half. Finally I sucked it up and went to the doctor. Stress fracture in the heel. And now I have been told to go easy for 6 weeks while it heals.

In the mean time can you guess how I am feeling? Emotional, emotionally eating (lots of sugar) and I can’t seem to put it down. Feeling over whelmed, guilty and unbelievably irritable.. my poor family.

So 2018, please be kind. I seem to have lost my willpower and I need a good kick in the pants to get it back! I did take the first step in enrolling again in dietbet challenges. They keep me the most honest. Although, I really wanted to sit one month out. Going to Australia next week and thought it will be too hard to stay on track. I owe it to myself to be honest to not let this continue... I owe it to my friends on dietbet.

2018.. I’m not sure I’m ready but ready or not here I come again through that door!
