Have you ever read Wheat Belly? You might look at things in a whole different way. All grains cause inflammation in your gut. If you want cheese or milk, RAW is the way to go. Meats must be organic and grassfed. Flours for baking, I use almond and coconut and as far as sugar goes, raw honey, coconut palm sugar, or Grade B maple syrup, but in moderation, like maybe once a week or so. Paleo/Primal is my way of eating, everyone has their own opinion on what is healthy and I respect that.

I agree. Everyone has their own opinion and i think paleo isn't a bad diet (not my style for ethical reasons, but much healthier than the standard american diet that's for sure).

I have never read that book and no interest since i don't eat gluten either. Potatoes and rice are gluten / wheat free by nature unless they are processed. When i speak of my diet as high carb, it's purely rice, potatoes, beans and fruit.. I eat about 5 bananas a day.. most people are almost offended when they find out. Each banana has a lot of carbs and people think they get fat from that.. But it's so far from the truth, it's all the other crap they eat with the bananas that get them fat.
