So I had a rest day today. By rest day I mean no training. Days like today are very importating for training because it allows my body to repair all the muscle damage that may have occured during training. It also helps because i am resting... and getting energy for my week of training ahead.
Here what sucks about a Rest day, which I had forgot about. So this is my first rest day after a hard weekend of training. So basically me going from consuming 3000+ calories in order to fuel my rides, to today when I only need to consume around 2000 calories since im not burning anything. So it throws my body out of what, WHICH I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT since my last hard week of training back in september.
Its very hard to go from 4000 calorie day to under 2000. My body feels like its starving itself because its not getting all the calories its used to getting, even if it doesnt need it.... so it makes it really hard for me to stick to my diet, and i'll admit I KINDA CHEATED TODAY! But it wasnt all that bad!
So by cheating I mean, I ate more food than I should have, BUT IT WAS ALL PALEO AND SOMEWHAT HEALTHY.
Cheat Foods I ate today: Larabar's, Ghirardeli dark chocolate, and fruit juices.
So in all thats about 900-1000 extra calories that I ate today on top of like 2000-2500 i ate today.
Went out to dinner and had a big meal, which I shouldnt have done either, but whatever. Its not like im binging like I did before, and going for candy bars.
As long as i over eat a little more than i should and it stays somewhat healthy, ill be okay with it. Im not happy, but not pissed at myself.
So this next week Ive got some riding going on so ill be able to eat more foods again. Easy training week because ill be studying for finals more often.
Good day today, got some good rest. Hung out at my appartment, got stuff done!
Athlete Food Log:
Breakfast: 3 egg omlette with turkey bacon, spinach, avocado. 2 bananas
Lunch: Pork loin, spinach salad, 2 bananas
CHEAT SNACKS: 4-5 squares of ghirardeli dark chocolate... lost count :( 2 larabars, apple juice, grape juice, mixed nuts
Dinner: Japonese salad, Crispy Duck with vegetables side.
Total Calories consumed: IDK probably like 3000-3500
Kinda mad about that, but theyre not horrible foods
At least I reset my willpower clock with this cheat... back to strict paleo tomorrow, I PROMISE!!!
