Ok so by the title, you can probably guess that I had a bad night last night? RIGHT YOU ARE!!
Went to bed at 9:30, couldn't fall asleep until 2am....... ugh, skipped my 8am to sleep 2 extra hours but 6 hours for me is not enough. I don't get why i have good nights and bad nights. I only want good nights!
Trying to stay positive, i hope ill sleep better tonight. besides, it could've have been from all the extra foods I ate yesterday keeping me up.
Today wasn't a bad day despite being fairly tired. Class went well in the morning, then I had all afternoon to train and stuff
Coach changed my gym plan and made it a bit harder and longer than what I am use to. Usually takes me like 45-50 minutes for the normal routine, this new one took around 1hr 05mins... So not too much longer but they are difficult exercises.
Cyclists normally just ride bikes, but in the offseason its important to strengthen the core and leg muscles since the core is used all the time when riding a bike, but it is never actually "worked out" or strengthened.
So I do this gym routine a couple of times a week basically from the months of October to February.
Some coaches believe that gym workouts make your legs stronger which in turn will make your riding stronger. There is no scientific proof of this, but some coaches think it couldn't hurt. My coach only has me doing body weight exercises, so he's against heavy weight training. My old coach was all for heavy weights. Personally I believe the saying that the only way you can get stronger riding a bike is by... riding a bike. And that is a true fact. the gym simply can supplement the riding
After the gym, I had about 1hr 10 mins of easy riding, so i went home from the gym, got dressed and set out on a ride. Kinda chilly today. I got some new tires yesterday so I wanted to take them for a spin. they say a wider tire results in a smoother ride? I guess I notice a small difference. too soon to tell maybe. Ive got a longer ride tomorrow, so ill give it a verdict after that.
Got a flat tire during the ride, it always pisses me off when that happens, especially with brand new tires!!
I caved in this afternoon and ate a little extra than what i should have. Im still under in my total calories, but i couldn't resist a apple with honey! 160 extra calories, but if my body wanted it, I probably needed it.
still under calories, but id be happier if i didn't have the apple... whatever
