You're thinking - Why is she writing about Easter? It's almost Christmas, right? Let me explain.
I haven't bought a new nice outfit for quite a while. I used to buy a new dress or pant suit for Easter and/or Christmas pretty much every year. It's been years since I've bought anything but the minimum in new clothes though. It's not that I looked bad in clothing. I just couldn't ever find THE outfit. The one that made me feel fabulous and beautiful. Looking was just too exhausting, so I quit trying. My mother-in-law has been in charge of new clothing for me (Christmas and my June birthday) for a while now.
This year, however, I'm going to get a new Christmas outfit. I was thinking about what I wanted to buy this morning. I'm leaning toward a pair of leggings and long sweater. Mainly because my legs ROCK right now and I want to show them off. During my thought process, a dusty pink color crossed my mind and I nearly stopped breathing.
Dusty pink is the color of a dress I fell in love with toward the end of college. It's a dusty pink, knee length sheath dress with a pink, light yellow, and white, long sleeved tweed jacket. It's got that classic styling that, while maybe not the height of fashion, will never be out of fashion. I couldn't afford it when I saw it, so I went to my mother and asked for help.
It's the dress that I wore to a job interview, half a dozen Easters, and several important business meetings. It's also the one dress my ultra sensible self couldn't bare to get rid of when it got too small. It's currently hanging in the very back of my closet.
I'll get to wear it for Easter again this year. That makes me even happier than the new Christmas outfit I'm going to pick out this week.
