After a trip to Sam's (where we bought a scale...) Richard and I weighed in for our Sweating for the Wedding DietBet. Then, we decided $50 wasn't enough and signed up for "BET BIG TO WIN BIG" competition -- $100 -- and I joined another $30 one, and he joined a six month DietBet. We're pretty invested in this dieting thing. (But when we win, the money can go to the wedding fund, which is awesome.)

Immediately after the weigh-in, Richard said, "I just want to eat M&Ms and drink sweet tea."

A few hours later, he said, "I've been dieting for three hours. This is HORRIBLE!"

Normally, that level of despair is reserved for week 2 or 3, but some people are advanced.

I had my own moment of frustration today when I was out for a run this afternoon. I diligently tracked my 1189 calories on My Fitness Pal yesterday, ate a light breakfast and lunch this morning/afternoon, and ran out of energy after a few miles.

Well, duh. I didn't eat enough. So, back to finding the balance of diet and exercise.

Maybe the incident today will be the only challenge I face with the DietBet. Wishful thinking I am sure!
