Just choose something modest when you eat out. There's nothing wrong with just dining on just an appetizer as the restaurants will still gladly enjoy the fact that you are there. Get some of those 100 calorie packs for the after lunch hunger pangs. That will prevent over eating by the time dinner comes around. Keep at it and good on you for writing about it. Nobody's perfect.

If it helps, you could announce to everyone at your table that you're on this weight loss challenge and need to stay away from the extras that come with the meals. I've found that friends and family can be quite supportive.
