I too suffer from hereditary factors in terms of body size. I found I had to work much harder to lose the same amount of weight as others. I too am not sure why your mother said what she did. My mother just insulted me on my hefty size one night 22 years and the morning after, I started on my weight loss journey. You seem to have it all figured out, and I would say you are doing this for both you and your mom.
