Next weekend, TWO DAYS before my final weigh in for my six month DietBet, I'm flying from South Korea to Chicago.  Here are some problems with that:

I HATE flying.  My best method for getting through it is plenty of alcohol ideally before take-off, until I calm down, with additional doses for turbulence.  I usually start to relax after the flight is about half over, regardless of how long or short it is.  I should start now trying to talk myself into being a cool jet setter for whom flying is no big deal, as I once was... not sure why I got so anxious about it.  Anyway, drinking does not make me skinnier.

I can never sleep much on the plane (or in cars, or on busses).  My body does not appreciate lack of sleep or lack of time fully reclining, and responds with bloating and swollen feet and bad skin.  (I'm sure the wine plays its part too.)

Airplane food is not great, but i usually welcome the distraction.  I generally eat everything but the sushi and any soggy looking salads.  (I love sushi, but i distrust it on airplanes.)  But I think I'm going to have to get pickier this time.  Maybe avoid the bread/rice/noodles?

So far my game plan is to drink lots and lots of water, pack some healthy snacks for airport wait time, and get some walking in during my Chicago layover, although my body will be thinking it's bedtime then.  I hope a few good nights of sleep will be enough to get my weight where it should be by weigh-in time.

I welcome any advice!
