Hello. My name is Robin, and I am addicted to sugar. I really try so hard to stay away from it, but I can't help it. I justify it by saying, "I'm eating fruits. Fruit is good for you." Yes. That is very true. Grapes are GREAT for you. Fully of anti-oxidants, vitamins, AND SUGAR. A REGULAR serving size of grapes are GREAT for you, but the whole bag is not. And then there are the pastries.....
I know I have a problem when after I find out that I am under my caloric intake for the day and "GET A HONEY BUN" comes to mind because I "have to fill up my total calorie count!" I feel like I could be doing so much better in my weight loss, but sugar has me feening like Jodeci (25 years old and above can understand that analogy). I SNEAK sugar. After losing some weight, I decided to "celebrate" with a M&M ice cream sandwich. AHHHHH!!!!!
What is the real issue? What am I really stuff in my mouth? What am I really suppressing? I know its root, but these root issues have created habits from me "dealing with it" that are hard to break. Being addicted to sugar is different from anything else. When you are addicted to alcohol, you have to go to a certain section of a grocery store, or a certain type of story. If you are addicted to drugs, you have to find someone who sells what you want, make arrangements to get it and then do the drugs all while not being caught. With sugar, IT IS EVERYWHERE and in EVERYTHING!!! As I am using Livestrong app to track my eating (which is awesome by the way), everyday, I am CONSISTENTLY over my sugar allowance. My calorie, fat, sodium, and/or whatever can be on point, but my sugar is CONSTANTLY over.
This is a monkey I intend on putting and keeping in a cage. I will say I have self-control and actively work towards it until I see change happen within me.
