I was supposed to run this morning, but I looked out the window to see snow on the ground, which I think is a reasonable excuse to stay home, and boy was I happy about it!

I decided to make up for it somewhat by walking into uni, which was fine. The fatal move for me was deciding, since the sun had come out, to walk home too. I even thought as I set off "I could go for that run!"

Now I consider myself a fit person, I'm quite active, I'm always rushing about, I walk and cycle most places. But by the time I got about 3/4 of the way home (the journey is 2.5 miles), I was totally out of energy. It was like when you go shopping all day and then you just hit a certain point where you're tired but you have to get back to the car and you just don't know how you'll do it. When I (finally) got home I just flopped onto my bed and fell asleep. So much for that run- I wouldn't have been able to run off the drive!

Well I woke up at about 6, had some food, and I was supposed to go out and meet friends, but my body aches and my legs ache and the thought of putting clothes on and getting back out the door was just too much. So here I am in bed at 9pm.

I think I'll have to raise my calorie intake. As much as I wanted to put it off till after the weekend because I plan to spend most of tomorrow drinking gin and it'll be hard to see the cause of any adverse effects scales wise, I also actually want to enjoy tomrrow, and enjoy my usual high energy levels, where even if I'm a little tired I can still buckle down and do that little extra. I shouldn't be bedridden from a 5 mile walk.

So I've gone from 1200 to 1490 calories a day. I think that should help quite a bit. Just need to re-plan my weekend menu now (yay more food/gin!)
