After a somewhat miserable weekend I went into the gym today and am definitely getting stronger! She had me do pull ups at a significant height off the ground. I needed some assistance but managed to hold my weight in a pull up and lower it down, some assistance to get back up again and then held again and lowered it back down for a few reps. This is huge for me. This wasn't using the machine either where you stand and adjust the counter weight so you can pull up. This was a stone cold arm pull up using just a bar high enough off the ground that I had to use a bench to reach it. She also has me doing double time on the TRX monkey bars. So I go across the bars get to the end, and turn around and do it a second time without stopping. My homework is to get a pull up bar at home and practice. I can also do tricep dips off the bench where I lower down and touch the ground completely, 20 of them in one go.

I told her I'm supposed to be at 121.4 by March 21. She seemed very very dubious that I can make that happen. Her response well you could do it but it would mean giving up a lot, and I mean a lot! I would have to continue losing at least a 1lb a week in earnest. I get what she's saying and I'm going to do my best to give it a good shot!
