Good morning after the night of carb attack!! I am not feeling 100% healthy this morning after the carb over load last night. I have been so careful about watching my carbs and making sure I have balance between the fast carbs and slow carbs. It was the fast carbs that got me last night and that equals a blood sugar spike and not a very good nights sleep. the end result is feeling tired,sluggish and just generally sick. I guess we all need moments like this to remind us why we are on this journey. so today is a recommitment to my journey into health and the focus on me. I need to look at the balance between my slow carbs and fast carbs and protein. I will remind myself it is ok to have potato, rice, whole grain as long as the veggies, fruit and protein out weigh it on the plate. Today I will drink more water to start the "detox" process and flush my system of the sugar that has caused this "over eating" of processed white death product!!

Sign in to CommentGreat post! Hello Valerie, I am Louise and I am a carb addict. < grin> I have to pretty much cut out carbs not because they make me sick, but because... I LOVE THEM! I don't eat one cookie, I eat the box! or the entire 3 dozen I baked! I don't have one serving of spaghetti - well maybe at the table - but during the clean up - I CLEAN UP! and eat until I am sick or it's gone or both! I can totally relate to your carb experiences. BUT what I am noticing is that it's mostly the grains. You know Bread and pastas. We don't do white potatoes anymore b/c of my husband's blood sugar but instead we treat sweet potatoes as white potatoes eating them baked with butter or french fried. BUT I have to stay away of from bread or cereal or pasta. GOOD LUCK!!! I look forward to the journey with you and reading more of your posts! THANK YOU for posting!
