over the last couple of days I have really made some good steps forward. Yesterday I met with the kinesologist and she gave me some easy strength moves that I can do anywhere really. When I travel I can use tension bands, at home I can dumbbells or if worse comes to worse just body weight. well maybe that isnt a worse!! She also helped me with alignment and some little hints for making the moves work better. Like at the bottom of the move don't let the muscle disengage, going to rest. On a bicep curl, elbows in tight to your body, and only going to a 90 degree angle when you release. Or when doing triceps do the move in little pulses. and how your hands are aligned with your shoulders during a push up.

Today was the last of the weekly group sessions and we talked about success and what that looks like and how we will continue on that path. We all realize that the ministy of health are looking at the numbers as the bottom line but we need to remember that what we are doing is about feeling good and being healthy. I also saw the dietitian and we talked about how many calories I should be eating. The total amount is about 1800 calories. that doesnt sound like  much but I guess they know best. That amount is including exercise I think. But then I reminded her that I was doing another 6 months of optifast shakes. So then she gave me the plan for that. And it was very specific and I was told to follow it to the letter!! It is a 7 day plan with menu completly set out. weights, measurements, everything. Shakes breakfast and lunch with fruit or veggies, two snacks and supper. So it follows a mutrisystem type plan, two shakes, two snacks with a sensible dinner. looks totally doable.  I will meet with the dietitian in a month to see where I am and will see the nurse practitioner again in 6 weeks to get my next round of prescriptions and to do blood work.  Fortunatly it isn't fasting blood sugar so I can do it the day I see her, just a monitering. I am looking at this as an additional step in my reset.

So this is my next step in my journey, my next reset.

As always moving forward, securing my healthy future!!

One good thing that came out of the last 6 months doing the optifast shakes I was able to dump pop out of my body and my diet. I have since dumped coffee and really dont miss either one. I tried a mouthful of pop the other day a found it tasted too sweet!! love that feeling. I did the same with coffee, poured about a half of a cup, added real cream tasted it and just didnt want it!! Ok I can live with these changes!!
