Hey there,

I'm hanging in there - yesterday turned out to be a success. I only had one serving of almond butter, super proud of that ha, that is really unprecedented for me.  I'm a bit frustrated with some circumstances affecting my weight, though - I've been on track and doing really well with my eating and exercise habits, but with "that time of the month" I get SO bloated and have more water weight than usual.  I know it's temporary but it's annoying, I want to see more progress for all this effort!  I also just want to eat everything in sight, with cravings and mood swings and all, but I'm holding off - drinking lots of green tea to hydrate and curb my appetite.  I've also developed a new practice of stepping outside just for two minutes around 4pm - it helps me snap out of the late afternoon tiredness and feel refreshed, especially since going outside here is like taking an ice bath.

I'm so glad I finally went grocery shopping and got some good food too - it's so much easier to eat healthy when I have really delicious health food on hand.  I had a friend over for dinner and made mussels in a garlic sauce, my specialty.  We had them over Swiss chard instead of pasta or with bread, but honestly I didn't even mind, they're so rich and delicious and satiating.  I need to do that more often!

My other new tactic, in spite of this weather - wearing cute little tank tops with my big, cozy cardigans.  I'm so tired of wearing bulky sweaters all the time, I can't wait to wear anything more feminine and dressed up - I'm fantasizing about even just being able to wear flats with jeans instead of winter boots.  I think it's good having more body awareness when you wear something fitted and flattering - I'm way more likely to overeat if I'm swimming in an oversize sweater than if I'm in a pretty tank top.  It's just a silly psychological thing but it's been helping me.

I also made this my treat day for the week and had chocolate - today of all days I definitely needed it.  I found this incredible inexpensive organic chocolate at the Coop that doesn't have added ingredients and is actually pretty low cal and sugar compared to others - and 80% dark, so health benefits, woo! Forgetting the name right now, I'll add it later.
